Shipping Policy
Order Processing Time
At Jerry’s Gourmet Berries & Ferments, we take great care in hand-packing your artisanal ferments to ensure they arrive safely at your door.
Processing Time: Please allow 2–3 business days for us to prepare and package your order before it is handed off to the carrier.
Shipping Days: To avoid jars sitting in transit over the weekend, we typically ship orders Monday through Wednesday. Orders placed late in the week may be held until the following Monday to ensure freshness and safety.
Pickup Option
We now offer a pick up option for our customers in The Plains, VA area. Pickups will usually be scheduled on the following Sunday (11:00 AM. - 12:00 PM) from when an order is placed. Orders can be picked up in the parking lot below the farmers market at 4559 Old Tavern Rd, The Plains Virginia.
How to Schedule a Pickup: During the checkout process you can select the pickup option instead of a shipping method. This option is free, but orders placed on Saturday may be scheduled for the following week due to processing time.
Shipping Carrier & Methods
We ship all orders via FedEx. We find that FedEx provides the most reliable handling for our heavy glass jars and delicate berry products.
FedEx Ground / Home Delivery: Standard shipping for most orders.
Tracking: Once your order has been processed and a shipping label is created, you will receive a confirmation email containing your FedEx tracking number. Please allow 24 hours for the tracking information to update.
Shipping Rates
Our shipping rates are calculated by weight to ensure you get the most accurate price for your specific order.
Local Shipments: Customers within our local region (approx. 40–100 miles) enjoy lower base rates starting at $10.50.
Heavy Orders: For orders over 15 lbs, specialized packaging is used to prevent breakage. Rates for these orders are adjusted to cover the additional weight and handling.
P.O. Boxes
Please note that FedEx cannot deliver to P.O. Boxes. Kindly provide a physical residential or business address at checkout to avoid delivery delays.
Damaged Items
We pack our jars with heavy-duty protection, but if your order arrives damaged during the FedEx transit process, please contact us at jerrysferments@yahoo.com within 48 hours. Please include a photo of the damaged jar and the packaging so we can process a replacement for you immediately.
